Mentalist Jose Ahonen offers you entertainment that will amaze even the most demanding audience, and takes you on a wild ride into the deep canyons of your imagination. An experienced showman, he engages his audience and leaves in his wake wonder, elation and the desire to be deceived again.
Jose is able to get his audience hooked, both on stage and on video. His YouTube video “Magic for Dogs” elevated him to worldwide fame, and subsequently his viral hits have acquired more than 50 million views. Among other acknowledgements, he was invited to shoot new videos for the Collective Digital Studio in Los Angeles. In Finland, Jose is a member of the “Scammers” group, which has made popular recordings and videos for radio and television.
Although Jose is best known as a magician and a mentalist, he also taps into his vast experience as a performer and utilizes his mentalist’s tools in professional training (in various psychological techniques and interaction skills provided to corporations and institutions). Two honest swindlers, mentalists Pete Poskiparta and Jose Ahonen, dig into the anatomy of deception along with various experts from diverse professions. The book includes numerous exciting examples, from the smallest scams at the bar counter to successful billion dollar stings. What kind of person will cheat for real, and can you recognize this in advance. How is it possible that a skillful scammer is able to empty his victim’s bank accounts after only a few days’ acquaintance, and why is a billion dollar corporation able to practice illusionary finances for years before people around it wake up to reality? The answers to these questions, and many other cause-and-effect relationships that illuminate the world of deception, are being sought from psychiatrists, evolutionary biologists, and undercover police officers. After reading this book, you will be a little less likely to fall victim to deception.
